Holodeck

Holodeck is the name I took from Star Trek. It’s a room that simulate places and experiences—and make them feel real, which fits what I want this page to be. I put the things I make on the internet here. All is personal here—nothing work-related.

Start from the header. I saw this Encarta somewhere, and it reminded me of using it when I was a kid. I liked the layout, so I used it as a reference for the Holodeck header. I added a few images that fit the Holodeck concept, but I wasn’t satisfied with the result. I tried changing and twisting the design a few times. Then I went with black and white plus a dither effect. The idea came from EXILE’s もっと強く single cover. I liked it, and then realized the cover matched the Encarta reference perfectly.

After that, I wanted to add some animation or interaction, since every header on this website must have one. The opening of Kamen Rider Faiz immediately came to mind. A scene with many moving grids somehow stayed in my head—so I had to try adapting it.
